Follow the manual, not a universal calendar
Use the maintenance intervals and replacement instructions for your exact robot and dock. Adjust your checks to use and visible dirt. This guide does not substitute a generic washing or drying method for the manufacturer's instructions.
Check the parts that touch the mess
Inspect the brush, side brush, wheels and mop pads for debris or tangles. Deal with dirty water and the washing tray as the manual instructs. Dust bags and filters are different parts: do not wash a component unless the manufacturer says it is washable.
Use only approved cleaning products
Do not improvise with bleach, foaming detergent or a household floor cleaner in a robot's tank. Follow the model's approved-solution and dilution instructions. Disconnect power before any cleaning or maintenance step that the manual requires to be done unplugged.
Know when to stop
Stop using the product and contact its official support if there is a leak near electrical parts, a damaged power cable, overheating or an unfamiliar fault. Do not rely on a buying guide to diagnose an electrical or plumbing problem.
